Opening Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park

Ontario’s first urban provincial park in Uxbridge is opening to the public for free starting Canada Day, July 1.

With this new addition to Ontario Parks, located just southeast of York-Simcoe, provincial parks have never been so close to home for so many Ontarians!

As of July 1, the park will offer limited self-guided recreational activities, like hiking and biking. A couple of existing trails are available for the public to use, free of charge. At this time, there are no facilities or services offered at the site of the new park, and parking is limited.

With 83 per cent of Ontario’s growing population located in urban centres, this provincial government is building more provincial parks closer to home.

Sibbald Point Provincial Park continues to offer so much to local residents and the opening of Uxbridge Urban Provincial Park will compliment existing recreational activities.
