Ontario Launches New Fund to Build Skilled Trades Training Centres
Ontario is facing the largest labour shortage in a generation, and this government is on a mission to help workers train for the well-paying jobs we know are available.
That is why the provincial government is investing $224 million in a new Capital Stream of the Skills Development Fund to support innovative training projects focused on building and modernizing the infrastructure Ontario needs to train workers to fill in-demand jobs and lead purpose-driven careers.
Launching on June 30, the new SDF Capital Stream will help eligible training providers, including unions, to renovate, retrofit, repair, and expand existing training centres or construct new training facilities.
Applications will be accepted until September 25, 2023 at https://www.ontario.ca/page/skills-development-fund-capital-stream
The new fund is projected to help train more than 1,000,000 workers now and into the future.
