Ontario Investing $2 Million to Help Young Entrepreneurs Start and Grow Businesses

August 26, 2025

Our government is taking decisive action to protect workers, businesses, and jobs from the impact of U.S. tariffs and ongoing economic uncertainty—while building a stronger, more self-reliant economy.

We are proud to announce an investment of $2 million to Futurpreneur Canada that will support 320 young entrepreneurs in launching new businesses across Ontario.

Futurpreneur Canada, an Ontario-based national, not-for-profit organization, provides financing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39 through their flagship loan program, the Startup Program.

Since 2021, Ontario has supported Futurpreneur with $9 million in funding, helping to start and grow close to 1,200 businesses, including the disbursement of 1,035 loans, and creating close to 4,500 jobs across the province.

Today’s investment builds on the government’s ongoing supports to help small businesses, which employ nearly 2.5 million people and make up 98 per cent of all Ontario businesses.

Interested applicants can apply directly through Futurpreneur’s website. The process includes submitting a business plan and connecting with advisors who will guide them through the application.
