Ontario Expanding Mental Health Services in Central Ontario
Today, October 10th is World Mental Health Day. The provincial government is now offering more mental health services in every region of the province through the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) program.
For the very first time, adults across Ontario who have depression, anxiety and anxiety-related concerns, can connect to free cognitive behavioural therapy and other related services.
On World Mental Health Day, we are proud to say that with over 100 locations across the province and a range of treatment options available, this government is ensuring people across the province can access free, confidential and connected mental health services, no matter where they live.
Since the provincial government launched the program in 2022, over 66,000 people have already been enrolled into the OSP program and networks are continuing to accept new clients.
Central Ontario’s regional network is led by CarePoint Health and the Canadian Mental Health Association – York and South Simcoe, in addition to the existing network lead Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. Adults interested in enrolling into the OSP program can self-refer directly through CarePoint Health, the Canadian Mental Health Association – York and South Simcoe or Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, or they can be referred by their health care provider.
The government continues to introduce and expand on innovative new programs to ensure access to connected and convenient services to support the health and wellbeing of all Ontarians.
