Ontario Building More Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
The government is providing funding to get shovels in the ground on thousands of new EV charging stations across Ontario, through the EV ChargeON program.
Part of this government’s $91-million investment to get more EVs on Ontario roads, expanding the charging network outside of large urban areas, like here in York-Simcoe, will make it easier and more convenient to charge up and give drivers the confidence they need to transition to zero-emission vehicles.
This work builds on the growing success of Ontario’s Ivy Charging Network, the largest public charging network in the province, and will help to secure the province’s position as a global leader in EV production and ownership.
Under the leadership of Premier Ford, the provincial government is putting Ontario at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution, while continuing to deliver on the government’s plan to attract good jobs and build a strong economy.
Applications are now open to build thousands of new EV chargers for rural, northern, and medium-sized communities, including Bradford, King, Georgina, East Gwillimbury, and many more locations across Ontario!
