New Inquest Date into the Death of Denis Millette Announced

Dr. Harry Voogjarv, Regional Supervising Coroner for North Region, Sudbury Office, has announced the new date for the inquest into the death of Denis Millette.
Mr. Millette, 52, died on June 3, 2015, while working at the Detour Gold Mine in the Cochrane District. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Millette’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths in similar circumstances.
The inquest is expected to last seven days and hear from approximately 15 witnesses.
The inquest will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022. Dr. David Eden will be the presiding officer. David Kirk and Caitlin Tolley will be inquest counsel.
