Mental Illness Awareness Week

There is nothing more important than protecting the health and wellbeing of every Ontarian, and that includes mental health.

During Mental Illness Awareness Week, we are encouraging Ontarians to learn more about what can be done to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, and the different resources and supports that are available in our communities.

Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, Ontario has seen thousands of citizens reach out for help, and it has been the government’s mission to ensure that Ontarians of all ages who need the extra help, are able to access the supports they need – when and where they need them.

This week, all Ontarians can make a difference in their own way and help those in our community who are facing mental health challenges.  We can reach out to people who may be struggling with a mental health challenge, let them know they are not alone, and that support is available.

By working together, we can help break the stigma around mental illness, and provide better care for people facing mental health challenges in our communities.
