Inquest into the Death of Michael Pridham Announced

Dr. Kenneth Peckham, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Central West Office, has announced the date for the inquest into the death of Michael Pridham.

Mr. Pridham, 35, died in hospital on December 21, 2018, from injuries sustained while working at a quarry in Oro. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Pridham’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths in similar circumstances.

The inquest is expected to last three days and hear from approximately seven witnesses.

The inquest will start at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the Four Points Sheraton, 60 Bryne Dr., Barrie. Dr. Geoffrey Bond will be the presiding officer and Jennifer Armenise will be inquest counsel.
