Inquest Date into the Death of Craig Blackett Announced

Dr. Jennifer M. Dmetrichuk, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Toronto East Office, has announced the date for the inquest into the death of Craig Blackett.
Mr. Blackett, 41, died on May 27, 2016, while working at a construction site in Toronto. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Blackett’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths in similar circumstances.
The inquest is expected to last five days and hear from approximately nine witnesses.
The inquest will start at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex, Courtroom B, 25 Morton Shulman Ave., Toronto. Dr. Jennifer Tang will be the presiding officer and Kelly Simpson will be inquest counsel.
