Ontario Corps resources have been deployed to address specific community needs and are responding to requests as quickly as possible.

The ministry has deployed Ontario Corps partners Team Rubicon, GlobalMedic, Ontario Search and Rescue Volunteer Association, Mennonite Disaster Service, Feed Ontario, ATTCH Niagara, and the Salvation Army. To date:

  • Over 2000 wellness checks of vulnerable population in person and by phone have been conducted
  • Over 100 personal hygiene kits have been distributed
  • Over 500 meals and food hampers have been delivered in communities
  • Over 1500 people have accessed municipal evacuation sites
  • Over 600 volunteer hours have been contributed.

Residents should continue following direction from local officials and emergency response personnel.

Municipalities are able to contact the Ministry of Emergency Preparedness and Response by way of the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre. Staff are available 24/7/365 and act quickly to assess the situation and determine the best support to provide to the community. Communities with specific needs should reach out to the appropriate Field Officer or a local Community Emergency Management Coordinator to request support.
